The weather forecast said lots of rain coming, I was not going to get my twilight photograph this weekend. I attached a 35mm lens to my 5d mark II, and went for a walk where I had not walked before.

Someone was inside watching TV, others maybe looking at the city below. I was on some steps looking at the buildings, and a full moon rising. There was a fat black cat on the railing looking at me, they tend to do that at this time of night.

Standing here on Sunday night, and it seemed people had come home, lights were on, TV's switched on too, it was the end of the weekend. highly recommended view

In this scene, some houses are on hills, and others are in gullies, there were also apartments where people park their cars on the roof. The highly recommended Larger experience

The upper road, and the lower road both lead to Karori. The block of flats don't seem to be anywhere in particular, they are just on their own, sandwiched between two roads. Try the shortcut here

I went out in the afternoon with a small light dslr and cased the neighborhood taking photos. Later while resting some, I checked for possible candidates from two dozen photos. As dusk approached I grabbed my tripod with pano head and the canon 5d with L bracket and walked to the number one possibility. Once there it is only a few minutes to set up, I shoot a few frames inbetween cars whizzing by with headlights on. The light only lasts for ten minutes, by then it is all done, I head home again. It only takes a few seconds to view Large and on Black

I wonder what it would be like to live in an apartment that is standing apart on it's own with a tiny footprint , and up in the air with a nice view. I don't really think these thoughts when I am looking and photographing, but on a lower conscious level I'm sure something like that is going on. The apartment appears to have a gantry hook extending out from the upper floor which may be practical.
