little park, little trees, big building

This is a small park (very small) where people sit and have their lunch through the week. The trees are 'lance woods" they have strange spiky leaves and grow on the periphery of bush (woods or forest). Anyway, enough of that, it's only a photo. Look closer at the large and the small.

That's the juvenile form of the lancewood. There is a mature form in my neighbour's garden. A hiccup in the evolution. Most young trees are just tiny adult style, but some of NZ's have these two different forms.
