If one wanted to give up ones day job, and live by the sea, and write a novel while gazing out at the amblers and passing ships, then this may well suit. For me it is good to visit once in a while and amble along with a camera. To see the person in the window, looking back at me.
. . . my photo picks from my flickr photo stream, random thoughts on photography, and now my new direction .... painting.

office blocks, a church, shrubbery
Like most cities, Wellington has office blocks, the odd church, and shrubbery. I don't know what else to say about it, I just want to show what it looks like when one walks around. go here to see the cross on the steeple.

little park, little trees, big building
This is a small park (very small) where people sit and have their lunch through the week. The trees are 'lance woods" they have strange spiky leaves and grow on the periphery of bush (woods or forest). Anyway, enough of that, it's only a photo. Look closer at the large and the small.

smoke
I came here to photograph buildings and the general topography, but there was mostly just smoke. An art installation, mannequins and fire was the theme. I photographed the smoke, and walked on to find some buildings. closer to the fire

looking down on downtown buildings
What I like about Wellington is the geography of the place, though the central area is flat, the hillsides are not far away. And around the back of various buildings one can find a view. I like to look down, and to photograph them is like making a map. click here, and scroll down, there are mannequins loose on the veranda

more buildings, and a bridge
There was another parking building across the road, I wondered what the view was like from there. There was a curious mix of office blocks , apartments, houses and people jogging in the warm afternoon sun. go here to spot the joggers

just some buildings
It was just after midday, not the time I usually take photos. There was no other time available. I walked around the city, and then I walked up many steps till I was at the top floor of a parking building. I wanted to see what it looked like from up there. I took some photos then did the same at other parking buildings, no one seemed to mind. The buildings seemed generic, I presume it looks much the same the world over. click to make the buidings bigger
