toy town, young woman

toy town, young woman, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

I always want to take a photo on this spot, have done before here, and here, again. When this young woman walked towards me, I asked her a favor and tried again. This was some time ago, I have not taken photos for awhile because of the rain. The light was not as I would have liked, but as she was kind enough to stop, I have posted again, I lthink there is something about the snap shot look of it. For more detail go here; View On White

man standing under trees

He did not say anything that I can remember, just nodded, and stood there. He seemed happy to do that, I said thank you, he nodded again, and we walked off in opposite directions. That was all, it was a couple of weeks ago. I like it on black, and it is larger; View On Black

girl in car park

girl in car park, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

Large clouds were coming through, the sun would peek through every 5 minutes or so. I waited for a minute or so, she was looking up to see, but I could not hold her up for long, I took the photo, and we went our separate ways. You can have a larger view here; View On White

young women on taranaki street

There are a few places on this side of town that I want to photograph, but till now every time I tried, no one would stop. Some places just seem to be like that. On this occasion the young woman did stop, she said "what is this for?" as I took a couple of photos. I explained why and where she could look, and that was alright with her. Black back ground for sure for this one, and it is much larger; View On Black

man in the shadow of aro video

He crossed the road and did his shopping. I waited around, I have photographed here before: video store, and again: aro street video & four square store and wanted to do it again. He returned and crossed the road so I asked him if he would mind going back and stand just so. He did, I told him it was a little project I am doing, "that's cool", I could see that he understood. girl at mini market

girl at mini market, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

She appeared to be waiting for someone, I walked past, she was younger that the people I normally ask. So I walked on, then decided to go back. I asked her if it was okay to take her photo, "aarh I don't know" she said, I mumbled something about it being very colourful here, and so was she, she said "okay" I took the photo, and walked on, I looked back and she had ran away. young man, orange wall

young man, orange wall, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

The sun came out, I knew it was going to be brief. The silver graffiti stood out and I looked through the viewfinder, just then this young man went to run across to get out of the way. I said "no, stand there". He did, I said "thank you", there was nothing else said. It would be good to see here larger; View On Black

girl with carry bag

girl with carry bag, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

I took this a month ago, when the sun was shining every day. I didn't post then, I thought the light just too harsh. The rain has now set in, not sure when it will stop. So as a reminder of the so recent past, and because I have remembered that she did say, " are you an artist" - I had replied "I try to make out that I am". Not that it matters.

young man by missy's room

There is nothing in the title, just the early morning sunlight plus the fashion mannequins, that caught my eye. Then I saw this young man about to pass on by.
I think black is the best background View On Black here, and it is much larger.

young man on dixon street

I have often taken a photo here but not posted any, seemed to be something missing. I stood around for a while, and then this young man came along. I asked him if he would stand by the little patch of light and he did, he even leaned at the same angle as the pole, but neither of us were aware at the time. Larger view here; View On White
