girl on ghuznee

girl on ghuznee, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

I took this a little while back, and never got to post it. She seemed a little shy and reserved, but still, that's the way we are sometimes. more detail in a larger view; View On Black

woman walking home from the supermarket

I did ask her if she minded being photographed with her shopping, she replied, "This is life", and then posed here and said "this is fun". And I thought so too. For more detail one should look here; View On White

I was admiring this wall, it seemed to be something left over from what was something else, I had photographed this wall before here. I was thinking about this and looking at the orange graffiti, when I saw a girl walking towards me, she was wearing an orange skirt...it actually does look better on black View On Black

My first version is here; telephone pole & other pointed objects. This is the same place eleven months later and with a pedestrian portrait. For a more closer look; View On White

I was looking a the graffiti, and thinking how to photograph it. A woman passed by and looked at the graffiti too. She than walked across the road and sat on a park bench. She was possibly having breakfast, it was early morning. I asked her if she could possibly be part of my photo, she did not hesitate, and brought her breakfast as well. I had been out for a couple of hours on Saturday morning, in some places people would stop, and others they would not. Then almost home and I had this one last opportunity for a photo, and this young woman was happy to give a moment for a photo.

young woman, ohirio bay

I came back here, hoping to find a willing pedestrian, and I did. With my back turned to "Cook Straight" with a view of the snow capped peaks of the "South Island", but enough of that, I took this photo. Best on black I think; View On Black

I asked if she could help out with a photo, a sort of art project thing, I like the posters and stuff, and she said "cool" and carried on drinking a fruit juice. Here is the same location taken previously. See larger here; View On Black

man standing in car park

There was a beam of light in the car park on Victoria Street, I asked this man, who was at the time, walking down the street, if he would give a minute and stand with his shadow in the beam of light. He graciously said yes, he did not mind a minute. big view here; View On Black

This second hand shop scene had two aspects that I like, some sunlight and coloured light bulbs. Then this couple came along and happily helped me out.

curtains & duffel coat, originally uploaded by Lester Ralph Blair.

This house is plain and simple, no ostentation at all. The light was perfect, all I needed were pedestrians to come on by, and in Aro Street the wait was not for long, they were friendly and willing to help with my project in mind.

woman in a long black coat

My first version of this corner is here, but this time I was lucky and a little bit bolder, I asked this lady if she could spare a moment while I ran to the other side of the road. It is bigger and better on black: View On Black
