electrical circuit
The exposed wiring in this junction box interested me. The orange, blue and green wires means something to an electrician, but photographing it is just visually interesting like a drawing.

indecision
For me it has references to paintings, like Mark Rothko, or the brick work from paintings of L S Lowry of Englands industrial north. A car park up an alley way in Eltham New Zealand is far removed from any of this.

the colour red
We stopped in Eltham and I wandered down what was the main shopping street, shops mostly gone now. I noticed this small alleyway and ventured down to a large parking area, and looked back.

mountain view
In the background of this intersection there is just a hint of Mount Taranaki. This is the small town were I grew up on a small farm, a few kilometers south of here.

traveling
On the way to Taranaki there are small settlements, and they all look very much like this.

the long walk home
This is a parting shot taken in my neighbourhood, I'm off to Taranaki for a few days, my former home. Will hopefully see it in a new light and take a few photos.

strip
This is the sign of a business now gone, just the odd habitat of pigeons. Though it appears that the developers have a work in progress.

white rabbit
It was a subdued light kind of summers day, and this simple scene of graffiti and parking space caught my attention.

corner shop
Now just a place to hang posters, the lighting was a bit dull, but possibly it suits the subject.

strange days
When documenting a place there is a strange tension between darkness and light.

abandoned
This is a common sight, and I would normally walk on by, thinking why do people do this. But it was framed by a halo of shadow, the colour seemed right, and even the photographer was included, possibly a document of today's society. I took the photo.

high fidelity
I was walking down Cuba Street late afternoon on New Years day and noticed the light just touching the footpath on the other side, I crossed over to "Slow Boat Records" the image of the "rock a billy" singer ( possibly Johnny Burnette) always appealed and this moment seemed good for a photo, just a patch of light, and the shop was closed.
